Technical Data
Start up Date: December 2007
Production Capacity: 2.1 MW electrical – two stage plant
Input: Crop silage
Thermal heat utilization: Estate and residents of the village as well as the "Stadtwerke Oldesloe (local utility company)".
MT-Energie opened a new chapter in its company history by building this 2.1 MW biogas plant near
Bad Oldesloe. This marked the first time that a project above 1.0 MW was implemented, and thus taking
a big step forward towards international competitiveness. This plant is exemplary for large-scale biogas
plants in East Germany and abroad, as well as for biogas-upgrading plants.
This makes MT-Energie increasingly interesting for industrial customers like E.ON and other energy
providers. Baron Jenisch and his neighbouring farmer Schierhorn own this project.
Four CHP units run on the biogas produced by the plant. Besides electricity, the thermal heat that is also
produced can be utilized optimally by means of a micro gas network: Not only the biogas plant is supplied
with heat, but in addition the town Blumendorf and two industrial customers are supplied as well.
In this concept three quarters of the captured excess heat can be utilized.
