In the German town of Einbeck in the state of Lower Saxony, the MT Group has built a new bio natural gas plant together with the E.ON utility company. The system consists of a total of six tanks: two digesters, one post-digester and three residue storage tanks. Production is 35,315 cubic feet (1,000 cubic meters) of raw biogas per hour.

A gas processing plant, which operates according to the BCM method® licensed by the firm DGE in Wittenberg, Germany, refines the raw biogas to the quality of natural gas. By means of a non-pressurised amine wash, the gas is separated into its main constituents CO2 and methane. The plant has a feeding capacity of 17,657 cubic feet (500 cubic meters) of bio natural gas per hour.

Ensilage of corn, grass and sugar beets is used for the biogas plant in Einbeck. The plants are grown in the immediate area, which means an additional source of income for the farmers. As a result, the plant ensures long-term added value in the rural area.
